Awake Windows are the time between when your baby is awake and goes back to sleep for a nap.
Only you will be able to determine your baby’s exact Awake Window, they may be very excited and appear to be ready to play but actually be ready for sleep. Once you have it figured out your baby will get used to their routine and will be happy to be swaddled and put down drowsy because they know what is happening and they know it is nap time.
Typical Awake Windows based on age:
4–12 weeks: 60 – 90 minutes
3–4 months: 75 minutes – 2 hours
5–8 months: 2 – 3 hours
8–14 months: 3 – 4 hours
14–24 months: 4.5 – 6 hours
Suggested Total Daytime Nap Duration by Age:
0–1 month: 5 – 5.5 hours
1–2 months: 4 – 4.5 hours
3–4 months: 3 – 3.5 hours
5–6 months: 3 hours
7–9 months: 2.5 hours
